Q: My cousin's 2-month-old son is going to have surgery for scrotal hernia. She is worried about the post surgical care of the child. Please guide on the post surgical nutrition and other tips for better nurture of the baby in this critical period.
A:Hernia is a relatively simple operation. Not much needs to be done by way of care. Usually it is done as a day-care surgery or maximum one day stay in hospital. Babies can usually be fed about 3 hours after surgery and can be looked after in the same way as they were being looked after before surgery.
