What is the TTG (Tssue Transglutaminase) test for?

Q: I am 27 years old woman, mother of a 9 months old baby. I am having an upset stomach for the last 2 years. I have diarrhoea and pass white mucus with stools. I also have a feeling of incomplete bowel movement, gas, bloating, etc. The doctors says it is IBS. He has recommended a TTG test whose results show 6u/ml. I am worried; what is this test for?
