Q: I am suffering from severe sinusitis pain. Ten years back when I had this pain, I consulted a doctor who did a minor surgery. He punctured my nose through the nose hole and cleaned the spot. Afterwards I didn't feel the pain. Now the sinusitis pain has started again. I took some pain killers for this. What is the permanent cure for this? What is the latest treatment to cure this pain? Please suggest a remedy.

A:If symptoms suggest sinusitis, medical treatment includes antibiotics, decongestants and anti-inflammatory medicines, which are given for about 2 weeks. If problem persists despite medicines CT scan can help know the extent and cause of the problem which can be adequately taken care by functional endoscopic sinus surgery (FESS). In some cases of nasal polyposis, regular post operative follow up is needed.
