What is the recommended gap between the doses of the DPT vaccine?

Q: My three-year-old son had his first two doses of DTP vaccine in India with a gap of one month. He was supposed to take the third dose in Kuwait after a month but here they refuse to give the injection saying that the DTP is given with a gap of two months between each dose. Will this two months gap between the 2nd and the 3rd dose have any adverse effect?

A:In some countries an interval of 4 weeks is used between DPT doses while in others an interval of 8 weeks, particularly in developed countries. It will make no difference if you give it after 2 months instead of 1 month.
