Q: I am suffering from high BP from the past 3 years. Presently, I am taking 1 Telsar-40 mg tablet daily. With this medicine my BP remains around 130/80. I am also taking 4-5 litres of water daily. Inspite of that, I pass very dark yellow urine at least 1-2 times a day. Rest of the time the colour seems normal. Urine routine exam reveals no abnormal value. Urine culture shows no growth. Do I require any further investigations?
A:The colour of urine is dependent of its concentration, food, and medicines. Since you take lot of water, concentration should be OK. Edible colours can cause urine coloration and observe if your urine is darker after certain time of taking medicines. Once you have ruled out any disease, take it easy.
