What is the cure for blood clots in the eye?

Dr Arun Mishra
Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon, UK

Q: I have blood clots in my right eye and these are spreading though my vision is clear. What can be done and will it spread to my retina? Is there any medication?

A:You don't need to worry about this or treat it. It is called subcunjunctival haemorrhage. However, you need to know what caused this in the first place. Injury, high BP, straining while at stool, coughing, sneezing or blood disorder can cause this as well.
