Q: I am a 19 years old student who underwent complete blood picture haematology, which showed anisocytosis, mild leucopaenia, relative lymphocytosis and absolute neutropaenia. What does it suggest?

A:Anisocytosis is a medical term meaning that a patient's RBCs are of unequal size. This is found in anaemia particularly thalassaemia and iron deficiency anaemia and other blood conditions. You need a complete haemogram and reticulocyte counts before doing further investigations to establish the cause of anisocytosis.
