What is the cause and treatment for fatty liver?

Q: My liver is enlarged with diffuse fatty change. How does it happen? How can this be normalised? For your information, I do not take liquor. I had suffered TB, Typhoid and Jaundice in the past.

A:Fatty liver is a very common condition. The various conditions associated with fatty liver are:

Diabetes

Obesity (overweight) and

Dyslipidaemia (increase fat in the blood)The treatment is to control the above disorders. Other than that there is nomedication that has been approved for the treatment of fatty liver.
