Q: What are the possible reasons for posterior subcapsular cataract? Can this be cured by surgery? If yes, what type of surgery? My age is 32 years.
A:Posterior subcapsular cataract is usually caused by prolonged use of steroid treatment for Asthma or other conditions. It can also be caused by metabolic problems but treatment is same - phacoemulsification with implant, and nowadays with special implants you might not even need glasses after the operation.
