Q: I have heard about molecular therapy. What is it and how far is it useful and reliable? Is it a authorised system of medicine?
A:Molecular therapy refers to the field of gene transfer, gene regulation, gene discovery, cell therapy and experimental models for correction of genetic and acquired diseases. This is still confined to animal studies though some clinical trails have begun. It would take quite a while for it to become a modality of treatment in humans.
