Q: My 40 years old husband weighing 97 kg underwent blood tests after which he was suggested thyronormalcy. His thyroid profile showed T3 level - 120 mg/dl, T4 level - 6.41 mg/dl and TSH level - 5.22 mg/dl. What does this indicate?

A:His thyroid profile is normal but TSH is high normal. If he has anti-TPO positive then there are chances of him going into hypothyroidism, otherwise he does not have to worry. There is no need to take any medications. However he is overweight by 10 kg and obesity is also associated with hypothyroidism. I would suggest him to reduce weight.
