Q: My husband is 32 years old. He has recently developed a lump in his scrotum. It appears to be a size of 25 paise coin. He is also experiencing pain while touching the lump. Its been there for the past 3 days. He refuses to go to the hospital. What could this be?
A:Lumps in the scrotum may be infection, even tubercular. Some lumps are blood clots and occur due to minor trauma. Hernias may also present as scrotal lumps. Any of these lumps may be painful. Some lumps are cancerous. Cancerous lumps are usually (but not always) painless. However, one must never take chances, and your husband must visit a doctor.
