What causes repeated fungal infection of the tongue?

Q: My son suffers from fungal infection of the tongue every two months. What are the causes and please advise the proper treatment? How can it be prevented?

A:Oral thrush is common in infants, those on antibiotics, immuno-suppressive drugs, HIV infection, diabetes mellitus, etc. Topical Candid mouth paint is usually advised locally twice daily.
