Q: My 65 years old father had a brain haemorrhage due to fall and had got blood clots at three places. He was operated the same day and blood clots were removed from two areas while for the third, the doctor placed a tube. Scan showed that all the blood clots have been removed but he has been unconscious for the last three months. He is also suffering from high blood pressure. When will my father be normal?
A:I think he is hypertensive since long and has brain haemorrhage due to blood pressure, Sometimes due to a bleed in the brain, its fibres get damaged and they recover very late. Removal of clot alone doesn't cure the problem and the brain will recover on its own. The prognosis can be explained by examining the CT scan.
