Q: I am a 35 years old man who underwent a blood test due to an itchy skin, which showed eosinophils – 13%, absolute eosinophil count - 1000 cells/cu mm, immunoglobins - 499 mg/dl and glucose (fasting) – 108 mg/dl. My doctor prescribed Levoslz M for the next two months. I also had a huge abscess in my upper front tooth, which was drained yesterday. The swelling has not reduced completely. I am planning to clean it along with root canal treatment. Is the abscess linked to eosinophilia?

A:You seem to have atopic diathesis in which bacterial infections are common especially with staphylococcus which could have lead to abscess in the teeth.
