What can cause red spots on the face?

Q: My father has developed allergy on his face and his neck. Symptoms show red patches like veins on his forehead as well as on his neck. He has been taking medicine for a week now but the red spots are not disappearing? What is the cause of these red spots?

A:There are a number of conditions which can lead to red patches over the neck and the forehead. To name a few: photodermatitis, chronic eczema, papulo squamous disorders, etc.
