What are the side effects of Xalacom used for glaucoma?

Q: I am using Xalacom eye drops for glaucoma. What are the side effects with continuous use? The pressure remains at 22 to 24 for both eyes on tonometer. Is it ok?

A:Xalacom is a combination drug (Xalatan + Timolol) used for treating advanced glaucoma. There are few side effects mainly some redness and iris pigmentation. Be under the close supervision of your eye-surgeon. The pressure is borderline high. Surgery can be done for glaucoma depending on the type of glaucoma.
