Q: Is Lecithin (an extract derived from soy beans, containing Choline) available in India in granular form? I read somewhere that Lecithin when taken orally as a daily supplement increases skin health and decreases an allergic skin symptom called Psoriasis. I suffer from Psoriasis. Please advise.
A:There is no evidence that supplementing the diet with commercial products that contain significantly increased amounts of lecithin offer any benefit beyond that of a normal dietary intake. There is probably no benefit from using lecithin to treat any physical disorder such aspsoriasis. Perhaps research in the use of lecithin is needed, but it is unlikely that unusual therapeutic benefits will be shown which will stand up to scientific scrutiny.
