We do not have time to cook, how can we stay healthy?
Former Consultant Dietician, RML Hospital, New Delhi
Q: I am 36 years old and my wife is 32 years old. Both of us are working professionals with long working hours. We move out early in the morning and return late at night. We do not have enough time to cook complete food and are afraid of deficiencies/malnutrition. At present we do not have much problem except fatigue, lack of lustre in skin and hair, some signs of ageing, etc. Please advise some dietary supplements which should be taken by both of us to improve our health.
A:Instead of taking dietary supplements, it is advisable to take ready meal foods or which require minimal cooking. Take plenty of vegetable salads and fruits, lemon water, coconut water, nuts specialy almonds, paneer, cheese, soya bean products like nuggets, wafer etc. Brown bread, cornflakes, milk, curd are ready to cook products.
