Q: Are nicotine gums a good method to stop the craving for smoking? Could you please advise as to which nicotine gum to use, where to get it and what is the cost etc.? I shall be very thankful on information on this.

A:Nicotine can be used in two forms to help stop smoking: gums and slow release skin patches. You can use either of them though gums are not produced in India and hence will be difficult to get. I suggest you use nicotine transdermal patches that are sold under the trade name of Nicotinell TTS and is marketed by Novartis India Ltd.
