Skin - dark color joints

Q: I sweat a lot. I have severe blackish irritated skin on my hand joints. Even if I wash them daily the marks do not vanish.please suggest any remedy.

A:Darkened skin over joints may be due to hereditary causes or underlying acanthosis nigricans due to diabetes mellitus, other endocrinopathies, drugs, obesity etc. You need a consultation with a dermatologist for a proper work up and subsequent management.
