Should I start taking Insulin?

Q: I am a 46-years-old male. I am a diabetic. My fasting sugar varies between 160-180 mg/dl and random between 200-250 mg/dl. I am trying to control my diet and take medicines everyday. I would like to know whether I need to start with insulin or not. What do you suggest?

A:Ideally, early insulin is very good. But your drug adjustment to optimum level may also help in controlling blood glucose. If this doesnt help, then you may start with insulin.
