Should I get the plates in my arm removed?

Q: I am 34 years old. Exactly 12 years back, I fractured my left arm. The doctor planted a steel plate and six screws for each bone. Altogether my left arm now has two steel plates and 12 screws. My arm has became fully functional just after a month. I even started playing cricket four months after the operation. Till now, I have not cared about removing the plates. I am comfortable, though at times there is a little uneasiness. Will this be an issue in the long run? Should I get the plates removed?

A:You can leave it alone if it is not causing any problem.
