Sensory neural loss

Q: I have been suffering from sensory neural loss since the past 18 years.I am currently using a Hearing Aid.Have there been any advances in this field.i mean to say is there any theurpatic or surgical procedure developed for curing this.

A:Do you have one sided or bilateral hearing loss, and when was the latest hearing test done. Yes, we now have a tecnique called Cochlear Implant which is for people who cannothear, this is a surgical procedure in which cochlea simulating organ is put directly into the inner ear for one to listen.
