Q: My wife and I often fight in front of our 3-year-old son. He feels very insecure and is sometimes afraid to come near us. He cries a lot and is always sucking his fingers or thumb. I find all signs of depression in my wife, which starts the quarrel. She becomes very violent sometimes. I am very tense about this. What will happen if it continues like this? What remedies should be taken to make my child normal?
A:You should take help immediately not just for your wife and son, but also for the family interaction. Locate a good family therapist in your area or any psychiatrist or psychologist for taking help. Meanwhile, avoid fighting in front of the child and keep patience with your wife. A child can feel insecure and fearful, or may emulate aggressive behaviour if exposed to it often.
