Q: My question is what is the advantage of using vitamin D-3 with calcium as opposed to only calcium in the prevention of postmenopausal osteoporosis.

A:Vitamin D3 helps in the absorption of calcium. Calcium alone does not have a good absorption capacity. These are well proven facts with a large number of studies to back up the recommendation.
