Q: My sons age is 2yrs, he has persistent problem of loose stools with smell his weight also vary in a band, he is 12kgs and he has problem of loose stools and is not like dysentry, stool colour is brown but only ocassionally he have formed stools. stool was checked for fat indigestion but nothing was found. also please suggest any alternative medication or treatment so that his digestion improves.

A:A common problem at this age is toddlers diarrhoea. It is due to a rapidtransit time of the passage of stools in the gut. It can of course be madeworse by such problems as infection or cows milk intolerance. A simple testfor toddlers diarrhoea is to use a high-fat low-roughage diet which often results in dramatic improvement.
