Q: A friend of mine recently met with an accident due to which his kidney had been impacted. The kidney was later removed. Will he ever be able to lead a normal life?

A:I guess from your query that one out of his two kidneys had to be removed because of impaction due to an accident. Persons with a single normal kidney can lead normal life. The time frame of the recovery would depend on the effect of the accident on other organs and the selection and other areas of the body. Patients whose one kidney is removed as part of the treatment or because of donation, return to normal activity within 2-3 weeks and can do all strenuous work.
