Q: Is tuberculosis in the form of small lump/gland/lymph near the neck, infectious to others? My chest x-ray result is clear and there are no symptoms of cough. I am on ATT since 9 months duration. I just want to know if it infectious to others?
A:If the chest is clear and there are no respiratory symptoms in the form of cough, productive sputum etc., then cervical lymphoadenoapthy due to tuberculosis is non-infectious.I would like to ask whether the diagnosis of tuberculosis of lymph node was confirmed by biopsy or just based on history and clinical impression? If there are any close contacts or family members having any respiratory symptoms, or are feeling unwell, may need to be assessed by doctors.
