Q: What is the treatment for tinnitus, is it curable or not? I am a 33 years old man suffering from a hearing problem. I have blood pressure and take Enam 2.5 mg daily.

A:Tinnitus is defined as hearing sound without outside actual sounds. There are large number of causes, some curable easily by surgery or medicine. Short hearing due to perforation in drum or fixation of hearing bones can be corrected and cured easily. Some tinnitus cases are more difficult to control but can be treated. Rarely tinnitus due to psychiatric disorders may trouble more. Tinnitus maskers are also helpful.
