Is there any treatment available for plagiocephaly?

Q: Is there any treatment available in India for plagiocephaly. I am searching for a band, helmet for my 11 months old daughter who is having mild plagiocephaly symptoms.

A:Plagiocephaly due to positional deformity may be corrected by certain positional exercises. It is usually benign and gets corrected over a period of time. However plagiocephaly due to premature fusion of cranial sutures called craniosynostosis may need surgical correction. Please consult your pediatrician who may decide to refer you to a pediatric neurosurgeon.
