Q: My father(age: 68) is a diabetic patient for the past 10 years and he is taking tablets continously. He does not have hypertension. Now his vision is becoming blurred. I would like to know the following - 1. Is there any relation between diabetes and eye vision; 2. Why has this happened?; 3. Is it easy to resolve?
A:There are several reasons why diabetics can get visual problems. Diabetes is one of the commonest causes of visual deterioration. It could be because of retinal involvement, or glaucoma, or cataract. You should see an eye specialist immediately.
