Q: My child is 3 and a half years old. I read that giving vaccination injections into the buttocks or arms should be avoided. But our family doctor has always been giving them on my child's buttocks. Will this have any ill effect on her?

A:There are no ill effects of injections in buttocks if given properly. Injections in buttocks are not contraindicated in children.
