Q: I came to know that there are some vaccinations available to prevent cervical cancer. Recently, I read a leaflet from Glaxo Smith Kline. Please share the details.
A:Yes, there is a HPV vaccine called Gardasil available for prevention of cervical cancer in India now, from Merck Sharp & Dohme. It is recommended for girls/women from the age of 9 years to 26 years. Details can be obtained from the internet.
