Q: I am a 30 years old unmarried man. At times when I am sexually turned on and I don't masturbate I feel some pain in my testis, which vanishes after sometime automatically or even when I masturbate. Do I need to see a doctor?
A:Mild dull testicular pain or orchalgia may occur with congestion of sex glands like prostate and seminal vesicles contributing to semen formation, and is not unusual. You may, however, require examination and investigations if it regularly occurs after exertion or prolonged standing, as may happen with hernia or varicocoele, or if associated with testicular swelling as may happen with a local pathology.
