Is TB of the wrist contagious and what is the care involved?

Q: My cook's daughter (40 years old) has been diagnosed with TB of the wrist. Is this infectious? Any precautions to be taken around the house, as I have both young and old people in my household? She has two young children so should I get them tested/examined as well? Where can I read about care, diet and convalescence requirements for a TB patient? I have been reading that there is a relationship between HIV and TB. Is this so? She seems to be quite healthy otherwise.

A:No, TB of wrist is never infectious. There is no need to get her children tested if they have no symptoms. Ther is no need for that. You search for information on the internet. However, only routine nutritious diet is adequate. Yes, there is a relationship between HIV and TB. But TB of the wrist is an unlikely consequence.
