Q: My husband develops skin infection around the shaving area whenever he shaves. Then he takes odoxil 500 for few a days and it becomes fine. He has changed his shaving cream, shaving blades etc. but of no use. Odoxil was suggested by a dermatologist but the problem seems never ending. It happens every time he shaves so more or less he is continuously on this medicine. Please suggest a cure?

A:Beard area infection after shaving for a lay person may not be actually infection. It may be pseudo-folliculitis due to close shaving or reverse shaving. Other possibilities may be seborrhoeic dermatitis or true folliculitis. Unless seen in person, it is difficult to tell the exact diagnosis and suggest any treatment.
