Is my daughter short in height for her age?

Q: What should be the height of a 5 years & 9 months old girl child? My daughter’s height is 42 inches and I feel she is short for her age. Her weight is 17.5 kg.

A:The height of your daughter is within the acceptable range for her age. It also depends on the parents’ height. More important is the growth velocity over a period of time. If she is following her growth curve, it is fine.
