Q: I have a 9 months old baby girl. Is it mandatory to get her vaccinated against measles once she gets 10 months old?
A:Yes, measles vaccination must be given after 10 months of age and at the earliest. Measles is an inexpensive vaccine and is also available as a part of the government programmes for free. After 15 months of age, it is desirable to give MMR vaccine, which is provided by governmental programmes as a pilot in very few cities only.
