Is it safe to take Nizonide-O in ulcerative colitis?

Q: I am a 33 years old man weighing 74 kg. I take these medicines – Azaron (100 mg), Wyasolone (40 mg) and Mesacol 1.2-1.2-1.2 gm per day. Is it safe to take Nizonide-O in ulcerative colitis?

A:Nizonide-O is an irrational combination of two drugs: nitazoxanide (used in amoebiasis) and ofloxacin (antibacterial). It has no role in ulcerative colitis. Such a combination is not permitted in any advanced country.
