Q: I am a 32 years old IVF patient. At present I am 26 weeks pregnant. My doctor has suggested a caesarean section delivery, whereas I want to have a normal one. All the other parameters like sonography, BP, weight, etc seems to be normal. What should I do? Please tell.

A:The doctor must have decided for caesarean delivery to be 100 percent sure of a healthy baby, in view of the fact that it is a precious and high risk pregnancy. If you are very keen on a normal delivery, you can ask for a short trial of labour, with the option of fetal heart rate monitoring by a CTG machine, so that in case of any trouble / problem, a caesarean can be done, as and when needed.
