Is it necessary to repeat OPV in case of vomiting?

Q: Hello Doctor, My daughter is 7 months old and when she was 5 months, the pediatrician had given her the 3rd OPV dose. Immediately after 2 hours she started vomiting. My question is, whether it is necessary to give her OPV once again? Please answer this.

A:Vomiting may not have been necessarily due to OPV. We should give more doses of polio vaccine as it very essential to protect against polio. If she starts vomiting again then we may look for certain other alternatives, but I think as of now, under medical supervision, give another dose and observe.
