Q: Recently one of my friends who is married and in the US since 8 months had a period problem and consulted a lady doctor who after doing blood tests informed that she has Hyperprolactinemia. Is this a very serious problem? Can she ever become pregnant? Is it necessary to start medication and for how long will she need it?

A:Hyperprolactinaemia can be treated very easily and drugs are not costly. She can start treatment for hyperprolactinaemia 3 months before she desires to become pregnant. Before that, to keep her periods normal, all she needs is to take oral contraceptive pills.
