Q: My 48 days old son was given BCG and polio drops at birth. Now, shall I go for immunisation schedule as per government hospitals that is DPT and hepatitis B after 45 days or shall I adopt easy five vaccinations? Is easy five safe and effective as compared to normal vaccination schedule?
A:Easy five is as safe and effective as the government immunization programme. It has one additional vaccine than DPT and Hepatitis B, namely, Hemophilus influenza b(which protects against a type of brain fever and pneumonia). However, it will cost you more. If you can easily afford the cost then it is better to have the additional advantage of Hemophilus influenza b vaccination also.
