Q: I am 45 years old. I had heart attack five years back and had by-pass surgery at Apollo hospital. Previously I used to smoke and drink heavily. After the operation, I completely stopped smoking and only recently (about 1 year) have I begun to slowly consume liquor. I am now taking minimum 180 ml alcohol about 2 days in a week and have no problem after taking the liquor. Kindly advise me if this is ok?
A:Alcohol in moderation is ok. If you feel well after one or two drinks you can continue. Do not mix it with smoking and consuming too much of calories. Make sure you do not over indulge in it. It can lead to problems like cirrhosis of liver and several other problems.
