Is abdominal tuberculosis contagious?

Q: I have been diagnosed for abdominal (intestinal) tuberculosis. Is it orally contagious - will my girlfriend be infected by it if we kiss?

A:Tuberculosis is a treatable condition in most cases and I am sure you are receiving treatment. Your girl friend, I would presume would have been immunised, and as such kissing should not be particularly infectious. However it is always advised that close contacts should always be screened for active infection.
