I took a medicine orally when it was to be inserted vaginally, is it a problem?

Q: I was suggested to take colposeptine since I was suffering from vaginal itching and pain. I took the medicine orally. After 2 days I realised that the medicine had to be inserted into the vagina directly. Will this lead to any problem?
