Q: I am 45 years old. I have diabetes mellitus from the past 7 years. Initially I took glucophage for 1 year and then I stopped it as per my doctor. Last year I started taking diamicron 1/4 tablets everyday. My fasting blood sugar is 105 mg and post prandial is 170 mg (average) whenever I measure. I was weighing 58 kg when diabetes mellitus was detected. Now my weight is only 45-47 kg. I eat a normal diet except sugar. How can I improve my weight?

A:You need to do exercises with more number of repetitions and with less weights. You would also need to increase your carbohydrate intake to refill muscle starch reserves. If you want to do activities, swimming and cycling would be the best.
