How to treat ulcers in the intestines?

Q: My father has ulcers in his duodenum and has high blood sugar and low hemoglobin (9.9g/dl). He has been taking medication for a month now. Endoscopy was done a few days back shows no change in the state of ulcers.

A:It takes 2-3 months for them to heal.Depending upon which country you live in, following things are recommended:1. Stop all pain mediciness, Motrin/Advil/Ibubrofen2. Take Omeprazole BID for 2 months3. Check for bacteria called Helicobacter pylori if positive, treat it4. If ulcers are still there, do a CT scan to rule out a gastrinoma.
