How to treat repeated episodes of indigestion in children?

Q: Why does my one year nine months old son keep getting vomiting & loose motions? The paediatrician said that it is indigestion and gave some digestion syrup mixed with antibiotic. I have my doubts on how to control this indigestion and its treatment. If this indigestion happens regularly can it lead to any other problem?
